About Me

Cats are said to have nine lives, well, I’m on my third (I’ll share those stories one day) and I’m still going strong. I don’t know how this trait rubbed off on me, since I’m allergic to those furry creatures (and a laundry list of other things) and according to my horoscope I’m a fish (Pisces). Beach anyone? I’m always in need of working on my tan, which should be easier for someone who lives less than twenty minutes away from the ocean, but somehow it’s not. I am a twenty-five year old born and bred Miami girl, whose family is originally from the beautiful island of Jamaica. Don’t ask me to speak Patois though. My accent is truly atrocious for someone who lived there as a child and visits multiple times a year.

I am currently finishing my college education and pursuing a marketing degree. Good luck getting me out of bed for early morning classes (or anything) though. As a chronic insomniac my nights are filled with the over analyzation of my life or the enjoyment of good books and TV, instead of sleep. I have a great circle of friends and a tight-nit family (the eldest of five siblings), but they are rivaled by the fictional characters I have become attached to over the years. The casts of Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gilmore Girls, Harry Potter, and Sex and the City are like family to me.

My morning does not start without a cup of tea and I never leave the house without eyeliner on. Converse sneakers really do go with whatever the fuck you want them to. Warning: I curse like a sailor. I can’t help it. I blame it on my belief that I was a member of the Mob in a previous life, or (the boring explanation) just a bad habit I picked up from my mother. I never thought I would start becoming like mother until after I had my own kids, but boy was I wrong.

Very few things are more satisfying than a delicious meal and I love a good party. What’s better than going out and enjoying a few cocktails with friends? Recapping the hilarious craziness the next day, duh! Amongst my friends I am known for getting myself into some truly hilarious situations with some very “interesting” people, but what is life if you can’t do something just for the story?
